More Pockets!

I love Scottevest apparel and now there is even more to love with the Expedition Jacket. 37 pockets worth of gadget carrying glory and no need for a backpack any more! Check it out:

The Revolution Plus might be a better pick for us Canucks but regardless this clothing is beautifully functional and totally a geek necessity. Consider this an unbiased and unsolicited Great Big Geek product endorsement.

Have iPad, Will Travel... Awkwardly

So it seems that some men are envious of the iPad but are not willing to purchase one because of the difficulty transporting it. I actually lug mine around, in the official Apple case, like a note pad, in my hand and held against my hip but then again I am not very concerned that the device will be recognized by would be thieves. I also don't typically carry too much else into the office and my parking is just steps away from our building.

It seems that in larger cities guys are both more leery of displaying the device openly and more fashion conscious. The New York Times discusses....

Note: This post seems to have been partially lost, I'll come back to it once I locate the link to the NYT story.

Steve Wozniak joins SCOTTEVEST Board of Advisors

Here's an interesting quote from the recent SCOTTEVEST Newsletter... "I am proud to report that Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, Inc. joined our Board of Advisors. Woz has been a customer for years, and he was the inspiration behind our iPod Spoof, available for viewing here at YouTube. Woz is in good company on our board, which also includes Hap Klopp, founder of The North Face." I'm sure this can only mean more great products from SCOTTEVEST!

That's one hot iPod you've got there!

PCWorld is reporting that an Atlanta, Georgia man had his 2 year old iPod Nano burst into flames in his pants! The man works at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to his mother, is quoted as saying "If TSA had come by and seen me smoking, they could have honestly thought I was a terrorist,". The flames are said to have lasted about 15 seconds and reached chest height. PCWorld says "The iPod contains a lithium-ion battery, which has a history of catching fire in laptops." Apple sent him a packet to return his iPod in... I think he should use a Scottevest next time!

Timex chimes in with it's iPod controlling watch

Business Week has a product review of the new Timex Ironman iControl watch. The device which acts as a remote control for your 5th gen iPod is reported to preform well, and is simple to operate, although the reviewer found it a tad bulky and perhaps over priced at $125 US. My iPod resides permanently within the upper pocket of my SCOTTEVEST, so while it is easily accessible I can see the merit in having an external device capable of navigating through my play list. I tend to agree on the price issue though, perhaps it will fall given time.
