Solving The Rubik's Cube Mindstorms Style

I've said it before, I love Lego Mindstorms! But even with all of my admiration for the technology I was skeptical that this was possible... well done!

Another Lego Mindstorms Project Worth Viewing

I'm not exactly sure why anyone would need to do this much braiding, unless you are a fraternity of assassins looking to modernize your operations... but it's a cool Mindstorms application just the same.

Mindstorms Automated Microscope... cool!

It never ceases to amaze me when I see a story like this. Geek Dad, Wired blog network blogger, found this "... USB microscope is controlled via a LEGO framework that moves the microscope and focuses automatically by raising and lowered the sample to be scanned." It's developer, PhD student, Jamie Robinson says this about Mindstorms "[it] allows for the rapid development of mechanical solutions that may take weeks to produce using traditional manufacturing processes. The use of LEGO Mindstorms provides us with a convenient, robust, programmable controller." This is just one more reason for me to want Mindstorms!

I Love Lego Mindstorms!

While I was in Florida I had a chance to visit the Lego Store at Downtown Disney. To my dismay they did not stock the Mindstorms NXT, I'd probably be building robots and not blogging otherwise. I could have spent hours there, but it was busy and we had plenty more to see. Here is a great Mindstorms project that showed up on YouTube:

and here is a picture I shot at the Lego Store:

iPod meets lego, how wonderful!

Thanks to Crave blog and a long list of other for this post... tenbyten Commerce Company, Ltd. a Korean distributor of all things plastic , or so it would seem, has an iPod doc that looks like a Lego brick! How geeky is that! The little red block comes with tiny little speakers too, I don't think it's licensed and I'm not sure it would fit together with the pieces of your Mindstorms kit, but how cool would that be! Looks like it comes in red, yellow, or blue.
